High school fair set for potential students

The Puget Sound High School Fair will be from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Annie Wright Upper School, 827 N. Tacoma Ave.

The Puget Sound High School Fair will be from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Annie Wright Upper School, 827 N. Tacoma Ave.

Local middle school students are encouraged to attend the event featuring four private, independent schools and two public schools. Schools are seeking students for the 2012–2013 academic year. Financial aid information will also be available from the private schools.

Participating will be Annie Wright Upper School, Bellarmine Preparatory School, Charles Wright Academy, Life Christian Academy, the Science and Math Institute and Tacoma School of the Arts.

Stadium students take to the streets

About 100 Tacoma Public Schools students marched over the noon hour from Stadium High School to Wright Park, with plans to keep walking toward downtown. They said they are demonstrating against state budget cuts to education.
