The contractor that designed and built a $30 million upgrade of Tacoma’s Cheney Stadium has won a national award for its work on the project.

M.A. Mortenson Construction Co. has won an award from the Design-Build Institute of America for its work on the stadium project. That award was presented at a meeting in October in Orlando.
