SEATTLE: Woman seriously hurt after getting hit by car

A woman was seriously injured when she was struck by a car on Aurora Avenue North late Wednesday night.

A woman was seriously injured when she was struck by a car on Aurora Avenue North late Wednesday night.

A man in his 20s was driving his Ford Taurus near North 105th Street about 11:22 p.m. when the collision occurred.

“A 22-year-old female pedestrian was crossing Aurora Avenue North from east to west when she was struck in the northbound lanes,” Seattle police detective Jeff Kappel said.

The young woman suffered life-threatening head injuries and was taken to Harborview Medical Center.The driver is under investigation for driving under the influence.
