The Pierce County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday identified two deputies involved in a shooting in Bonney Lake that killed a 38-year-old woman Sunday.
Deputies Tristin Marrs, 26, and Kelly Carolus, 49, remain on administrative leave, which is standard procedure after a police shooting.
Authorities said Holly Crahay was driving recklessly in a shopping-center parking lot near 196th Avenue and refused to pull over for a deputy.
After the deputy performed a “pursuit intervention technique” on Crahay’s car, pinning it against a guardrail on Myers Road, she opened fire on two police vehicles.
Marrs, Carolus and a Bonney Lake police officer returned fire and wounded Crahay. She later died at a hospital.
Marrs has been with the Sheriff’s Office for three years and Carolus has been with the department for 22 years, the Sheriff’s Department reported.
The Bonney Lake Police Department has not yet released the name of its involved officer.
