Nearly five months after Uncle Sam sold it, one of Seattle’s most notorious strip clubs is reopening its doors.

Nearly five months after Uncle Sam sold it, one of Seattle’s most notorious strip clubs is reopening its doors.

Rick’s Nightclub, a legacy of the crime organization under Frank Colacurcio Sr., will reopen its doors Friday under the name Dreamgirls at Rick’s.

Club manager Andy Wallock says he’s looking forward to providing adult entertainment at such a “historic” site.

The strip club on Lake City Way was sold in June for $2.35 million at a federal auction. It was seized as part of a wide ranging racketeering investigation of the now-deceased Colacurcio.

A Kennewick woman critically burned earlier this month in a boat fire near Richland is slowly improving after two surgeries at a Seattle hospital, family said.

Donna Smith, 43, has been at Harborview Medical Center since the boat she was on exploded into flames May 14 as it was on the water near the Richland Yacht Club.

Smith suffered second- and third-degree burns over her entire body and is expected to be in Seattle for at least a month -- possibly more.

A 43-year-old Kennewick nanny remained in serious condition Thursday at a Seattle hospital after being severely burned when the boat she was on exploded into flames.

Donna Smith was flown to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle after the boat fire Monday near the Richland Yacht Club.

She suffered burns on 100 percent of her body, said Cris Mallory, a friend of Smith's husband, Rick.
