The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for rivers in Western Washington, including the Puyallup River in Orting.
The flood watch for Pierce, Thurston, King, Lewis and Snohomish counties is from Tuesday morning to late Wednesday.
The forecast calls for 2 to 4 inches of rain tonight and another 1 to 3 inches Tuesday and Wednesday.
The snow level will be around 6,000 feet on Tuesday, then drop to 3,000 feet Wednesday.
The National Weather Service issues flood watches when "conditions are favorable for flooding but flooding is not imminent or occurring."
In addition to the flood watch, the Weather Service has issued a wind advisory from 7 tonight to noon Tuesday. The forecast calls for winds of 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph.
