St. Petersburg, FL (Sports Network) - The Tampa Bay Rays on Sunday traded catcher John Jaso to the Seattle Mariners for right-handed pitcher Josh Lueke and a player to be named later or cash considerations.
Jaso, 28, has played all three of his season for the Rays and takes a .245 career average, 10 homers and 71 runs batted in to Seattle.
The 26-year-old Lueke was 1-1 with a 6.06 earned run average in 25 games for Seattle as a rookie.
He posted a thank you message to the Mariners on his Twitter account and wished the team luck.
