Who will be Tacomas next city manager? That answer wont come for another week.
Tacomas City Council decided Tuesday to take an extra week to consider three remaining finalists vying for the citys top job. The council is now expected to make its choice Dec. 20.
Given that this is the most important decision a council can make, I really appreciate an extra week to back-check references and make a couple more phone calls, Councilman David Boe said Tuesday.
Remaining finalists are Tacoma Interim City Manager Rey Arellano, San Antonio Assistant City Manager T.C. Broadnax and Lakewood City Manager Andrew Neiditz. Two other named finalists have withdrawn from contention.
The council met to discuss the finalists during closed-door meetings Monday and Tuesday, but several members said they werent ready to take a vote.
Mayor Marilyn Strickland said all three finalists are qualified for the job, but the decision comes down to whos the best fit for Tacoma.
