Wednesday’s highlights
Auburn Mountainview’s Caitlin Carr had a team high 20 points in a 50-40 win over Indio, Calif., at the Nike Tournament of Champions in Phoenix. Hattie Kosko added 10 points for the Lions.
Led by Izzy Campbell’s 21 points, Evergreen 2A Black Hills knocked off Narrows 3A Timberline, 71-53. Sasha Weber led all scorers with 22 points for the Blazers to go along with five steals and four rebounds.
Julie Myers (13 points), Jessica Snoen (12) and Calli Remitz (11) led Enumclaw to a 59-53 home win against SPSL 2A conference opponent Sumner. Nicole Miller’s 10 points led the Spartans.
Precious Hunkin led all scorers with 18 points, but Narrows 3A Lincoln lost on the road to Narrows 4A Olympia, 56-36. Alex Bassett led the Bears with 12 points.
In boys basketball, Stadium’s Eric Anderson-Connolly had 10 points and seven assists, and Tyler Stumph added eight points and 11 rebounds in a 48-46 nonleague loss to Bonney Lake.
Despite Jawan Stepney’s 20 points, Kentridge lost to Skyview, 51-48, at Saint Martin’s University.
Phoenix Water scored 17 points, and Kevin Johnson added 15 to help Narrows 3A Wilson secure a 64-28 nonleague victory over SPSL 4A Graham-Kapowsin.
Charles Wright Academy was outscored 18-6 in the fourth quarter of a 64-54 loss to host Overlake in the championship game of the Shot in the Dark tournament. Beau Iverson scored 13 points, and Cooper Griffin added 12 for the Tarriers.
