In its most recent earnings report, Boeing predicted it would deliver between 15 and 20 of its newest model aircraft, the 747-8 and 787, before the year ends.
It looks now like that goal was just wishful thinking. The company has delivered just two Dreamliners and eight of the new version of the 747 this year. That leaves Boeing at least five planes short.
