The Christmas holiday and its observance Monday will affect many local services:
• City, county, state and federal offices will be closed Monday.
• All Tacoma Public Library and Pierce County Library branches will be closed Sunday and Monday.
• Most post offices will be closed Monday.
• Pierce Transit and Sound Transit will run on a Sunday schedule on Christmas and Monday.
• The Sounder will not run Monday and Tacoma Link will run on a Sunday schedule.
• The Point Defiance-Tahlequah ferry will run on a weekend schedule Sunday and a holiday schedule Monday.
• Garbage will be picked up on the usual schedule. The Tacoma landfill will be closed Sunday and open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday.
• Most liquor stores will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. today. They will be closed on Christmas and re-open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday.
