• The annual Model Train Festival is this week at the Washington State History Museum, 1911 Pacific Ave., Tacoma. From scaled-down steam engines to figurines no bigger than a fingernail, the model railroad landscapes will be on display throughout the museum. Hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m. daily through Jan. 1. Admission is $8 for adults, $7 for seniors ages 60 and older, $6 for students and military with valid ID, and free for children ages 5 years old and younger and members of the Washington State Historical Society; washingtonhistory.org/wshm/festivals.aspx.
