If you’ve always been curious about that unusual stone your aunt gave you, bring it to the Burke Museum’s 27th annual Artifact ID Day on Saturday.

Items brought to previous days include a 5,000-year-old stone tool, a twined basketry doll made by a Tlingit weaver and a drinking cup made from a walrus’ tusk.

The event will run from 1-3:30 p.m. at the Burke Museum of Natural History and Culture.

The Burke can provide information about Native American, Pacific Island, Asian and Southeast Asian baskets, blankets and cultural artifacts as well as archaeological materials, fossils, rocks, minerals and bones. No appraisals will be given. There is a limit of three items per visitor.

Artifact ID Day is included in museum admission and is free for Burke members. The museum is on the University of Washington campus at the intersection of 17th Avenue Northeast and Northeast 45th Street.
