Dianne Stoehr, certified public accountant, has recently joined the accounting firm Doty, Beardsley, Rosengren & Co. in Tacoma as a senior manager. She will provide business and accounting consultation, planning and compliance services in taxes for corporations, partnerships, and individuals. Stoehr has more than 20 years’ experience.
FREIGHT
American Fast Freight Inc. in Fife has announced staff promotions and additions:
Sandy Hand is the new executive services manager for the company and will assist CEO Tim Jacobson and Vice President, Sales Craig Forbes. She will also oversee the management of the sales administration group, the maintenance of the company’s customer relations programs and other company efforts. Hand has been with the company since 2003 and has served in a number of positions, most recently as executive administrative assistant.
Christina Schmidt Hallock was promoted to marketing services manager. She will produce marketing materials, handle external media communications, advertising design and placement, e-media and the corporate website. Hallock will also assist the executive services manager with sales presentations and trade-show marketing. She is a graduate of Western Washington University and joined the firm in 2010.
Tony Marques has been named the director of sales, western region, for the firm. He will be based in the Rancho Dominguez, Calif., office of the company’s division, Hawaiian Ocean Transport and will oversee sales in the western half of the United States. He’s a graduate of California State University, Long Beach.
AWARDS/RECOGNITION
Sue Summers, chief operating officer of Purcell Advisory Services in Tacoma, recently attained the certified investment management analyst designation. The designation is presented by the Investment Management Consultants Association, which sets standards and practices for investment management consulting. Summers completed the program of study and certification exam to qualify for the designation.
Michael Gordon was recently elected president for the Pierce County Library Foundation board of directors. The foundation’s board of directors represent the community, advocate for literacy and advance philanthropy for programs and services of the Pierce County Library System. In the past year, it awarded $338,147 for library projects and programs that included helping people apply for jobs, preparing children to read and the University Place Library Campaign.
