Boise police arrested a 17-year-old boy in the north-central town of Kamiah Thursday afternoon on an Ada County robbery warrant. He was suspected of robbing a Boise convenience store a day earlier.
Because the suspect is a juvenile, his name is not being released. According to a release from Boise police, the teen is in custody in Kamiah and is expected to be extradited to Ada County on the felony robbery charge.
Police said the identification and arrest of the teen came about after several citizen tips and the assistance of officers with the Kamiah Police Department. Photos of the robbery suspect were released Wednesday.
Boise officers were dispatched to a report of an armed robbery at the Jackons' convenience store on the 6000 block of West State Street Wednesday morning. Police said the suspect displayed a handgun, demanded cash and left the store with an undisclosed amount of money.
