FAIRBANKS -- A 22-year-old Fairbanks man has been sentenced to three years in prison for robbing two cab drivers while wielding a pellet gun.
Prosecutors said D'angelo Baldwin in April robbed a cab driver outside a grocery store where he had worked. A day later, he attempted to rob another driver, but the man wrestled the pellet gun away and Baldwin was arrested.
Baldwin pleaded guilty in a plea arrangement to second-degree robbery. Baldwin had no prior criminal record.
The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner reported that at sentencing Thursday, Baldwin said he had been acting "foolish" and that he was sorry for what he put his family through.
A 20-year-old man charged with driving Baldwin away from the first robbery faces a February trial date.
