Sprinker Recreation Center plans to holds its grand reopening events Jan. 21-Feb. 12.

The events will include ice shows Feb. 10-12 conducted by local skaters and highlighted by an appearance by Czech figure skater Jozef Sabovcik, the 1984 Olympic bronze medalist.

The Spanaway recreation complex has been undergoing a $6.5 million renovation in the past six months. Sprinker manager Kyle Wintermute says the facility could open for skating before Jan. 21.
