On the road for Jan. 8: Winterhop Brewfest

What: The eighth-annual beer-tasting festival attracts brewers and beer lovers from across the Northwest.
When: Jan. 21, noon-5 p.m.
Where: Various downtown venues in Ellensburg
Details: This year’s event includes 21 Northwest breweries. All the festival venues are downtown within walking distance of each other. There’s also live music at most venues, including jazz, blues and classical. The event is open to people 21 and older.
Tickets: $25, includes tasting glass and five tasting scrip. Tickets often sell out in advance of the event.
Spend the night: If tickets through the chamber of commerce are sold out, a number of motels in Ellensburg are offering lodging packages that include event tickets. Among your options, the The Holiday Express has a package that includes overnight lodging, a $10 gift card to Iron Horse Brewery and two tickets to Brewfest which includes a commemorative tasting glass and $5 script.
