Sharon Benson, a Realtor and member of the Pierce County Planning Commission, announced today she is running for the Pierce County Council seat being vacated by term-limited Tim Farrell.
Benson, 62, a Tacoma Democrat, is the third candidate to announce a bid for the open seat. Benson will run against State Rep. Connie Ladenburg, a Tacoma Democrat who announced in November, and University Place City Council member Chris Nye, a Republican who announced last week. Nye said he would remain on the UP council if elected to the Pierce County Council.
