Holiday closures
Here’s the rundown for getting around Monday on the Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday:
• City and county offices will be closed.
• All Tacoma Public Library branches will be closed. Pierce County Library branches will be closed.
• Most post offices will be closed.
• Pierce Transit and Sound Transit will run on a weekday schedule.
• The Sounder will operate on a reduced weekday schedule with four morning and afternoon trains on the Tacoma-to-Seattle line. Morning trains from Tacoma to Seattle will run at 4:55 a.m., 6 a.m., 6:50 a.m. and 8 a.m. Afternoon trains to Tacoma will leave King Station at 3:15 p.m., 4:20 p.m., 5:12 p.m. and 6:15 p.m. No service will be offered to and from Edmonds, Mukilteo and Everett.
• Tacoma Link will operate on a Sunday schedule.
• The Point Defiance-Tahlequah ferry will run on a weekday schedule.
• Garbage will be picked up on the usual schedule, and the Tacoma landfill will be open.
• Most liquor stores will be open from 10 a.m.-7 p.m.
