  The Cascade Christian Cougars boys and girls basketball teams have advanced to the Class 1A state basketball tournament taking place from March 1 through March 3 in Yakima.

  The Emerald Ridge Jaguars girls basketball team, Rogers Rams girls basketball team and the Sumner Spartans boys basketball team were eliminated from postseason action in games this past weekend.

  The Sumner Spartans defeated the Rogers Rams 36-28 in a Special Olympics basketball game on Jan. 23 at Rogers High School on South Hill. It was the eighth consecutive year Rogers has hosted the “Pack the Gym” extravaganza for Special Olympics basketball players. The game is quickly becoming a yearly tradition for both Rogers High School and Sumner High School. The Rams will host another game against the Puyallup Vikings on March 6.
