Jared Cunningham had 21 points and Devon Collier 20 as Oregon State pulled away in the second half to defeat UCLA, 87-84, Thursday night.
Angus Brandt added 13 points and five assists for the Beavers (12-7 overall, 2-5 Pacific-12 Conference), who ended a 13-game skid to the Bruins dating to 2005.
Lazeric Jones had 17 points and eight assists for UCLA (10-8, 3-3). David Wear and Travis Wear added 16 points each, and Jerime Anderson had 11 points and nine assists.
Both teams shot 58 percent from the field in the high-scoring game in Corvallis, Ore.
Cunningham’s two free throws with 10:04 left gave Oregon State its first double-digit lead at 66-55.
Consecutive baskets by David Wear got the Bruins within 74-68 with five minutes remaining, but Oregon State’s Ahmad Starks answered with a 3-pointer. UCLA got as close as three from there, but only in the closing seconds.
At Oregon 65, USC 62: Garrett Sim scored 20 points and the Ducks made five 3-pointers in the second half to hold off the Trojans in Eugene, Ore.
Devoe Joseph added 16 points and Olu Ashaolu had 11 for the Ducks (14-5, 5-2 Pacific-12 Conference), who have won three straight and are off to their best start since going 18-1 in 2006-07.
Maurice Jones scored 20 points for the Trojans (5-14, 0-6), who haven’t been winless this deep into conference play since opening 0-12 in 1989.
Dewayne Dedmon also had a season-high 18 points and seven rebounds for USC.
Arizona 77, at Utah 51: Kyle Fogg and Kevin Parrom each had 12 points to overcome the ejection of Solomon Hill and the Wildcats whipped the Utes in Salt Lake City.
Nick Johnson had 11 points and Josiah Turner had 10 points as Arizona (12-6, 3-2 Pac-12) made 12 of 24 from 3-point range and buried the depleted Utes with a second-half flurry.
Jason Washburn scored 14 points to lead Utah (4-14, 1-5). Josh Watkins, Utah’s leading scorer and only active senior, was officially dismissed Wednesday for a violation of team rules.
At Colorado 69, Arizona State 54: Andre Roberson and Spencer Dinwiddie each scored 12 points and the Buffaloes downed the short-handed Sun Devils (6-12, 2-4).
Austin Dufault and Askia Booker each added 11 points for Colorado (12-6, 4-2), which won for the 10th time in 11 games at home this season.
WOMEN
At No. 4 Stanford 75, WSU 41: Nnemkadi Ogwumike had 22 points and 10 rebounds, Chiney Ogwumike added 19 points and 12 rebounds and the Cardinal shook off a sluggish start to beat the Cougars.Stanford (16-1, 7-0 Pac-12) looked ragged in the early going before Nneka Ogwumike provided a spark, scoring 12 points in the first nine minutes of the second half.
Washington State (9-9, 3-3) didn’t have a player in double figures and remained winless in 53 meetings between the two schools.
At Cal 71, UW 47: The Golden Bears (14-5, 5-2) won their fifth game in a row, defeating the Huskies (10-6, 2-4) at Haas Pavilion. Talia Caldwell scored a career-high 18 points.
Layshia Clarendon scored eight points, all in the first half. She is now 16 points shy of reaching the 1,000 career point benchmark. Clarendon also had six rebounds and two assists.
At Arizona State 64, Colorado 43: Kimberly Brandon scored 20 points and the Sun Devils (12-5, 3-3) ran up a 33-point halftime lead in defeating the Buffaloes (13-4, 2-4).
