Technology Alliance Group for Northwest Washington turned disappointment into charity Jan. 20, donating 70 box lunches to the Lighthouse Mission.
Sommer Cronck, TAG's executive director, said the group's 8th annual predictions luncheon was canceled when speaker Mark Anderson wasn't able to fly in because of the storm. Half the boxed lunches had been made when she canceled the order for the 150 expected guests.
So, TAG staff packed up the sandwiches, fruit, chips and cookies and delivered them to the Lighthouse Mission, which is just blocks from TAG's office. Sommer knew the mission was in particular need of donations during the storm.
The popular event has been rescheduled for noon to 1:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 17, at Syre Auditorium, Whatcom Community College, 237 Kellogg Road. Price is $20 for TAG members, $30 for nonmembers. Register online at tagnw.org.
