An item on Page A2 in Wednesday’s paper incorrectly stated that it was singer Etta James’ 74th birthday. James died last week.
Clarification
An A3 story Wednesday about the transfer of Fort Steilacoom Park to the City of Lakewood should be clarified. Pierce County continues to operate and maintain parks and open spaces. It says it will transfer some to local agencies when that makes sense.
