The Steilacoom School District is asking for public input to help find a new principal for the town’s high school.
District residents last year protested the principal appointment process, which initially chose a candidate from Lacey to lead Steilacoom High School. Residents said the district overlooked qualified in-house candidates and asked for more say in the selection process.
The Lacey candidate withdrew, and the district asked Principal Jan McCrimmon to postpone her retirement and stay for another year.
Now district officials want the public to complete an online survey about what qualities they want in a new Steilacoom High principal.
Survey results will be compiled but individual responses will remain confidential. Completed surveys will be accepted until today.
To take the survey, go to www.steilacoom.k12.wa.us.
