WASHINGTON — Home prices fell for a third straight month in nearly all cities tracked by a major index.
Prices in Seattle, Atlanta, Las Vegas and Tampa dropped to their lowest points since the housing crisis began. And prices have fallen 33 percent nationwide since the housing bust, to 2003 levels. Prices dropped in November from October in 19 of the 20 cities tracked, according to the S&P’s/Case-Shiller home-price index released Tuesday. Phoenix was the only city to show an increase.
The Seattle area’s year-over-year decline, 6.3 percent, was the third-worst among the 20 cities. Only Atlanta and Las Vegas saw steeper drops. The index for the Seattle metro area includes King, Snohomish and Pierce counties.
