Wednesday’s highlights
In girls basketball, Kennedy Hobert sparked White River with a game-high 15 points, and Cassidy France added 10 to help the Hornets post a 58-25 victory over SPSL 2A rival Steilacoom.
Fife’s Ciara Pedroni scored a game-high 18 points to help the Narrows League 3A Trojans gain a 27-24 win over SPSL 2A Washington. Caylah Doss scored 14 points for the Patriots.
Sydney Hughes’ 21 points gave Charles Wright the offensive jolt it needed to give the Nisqually League 1A Tarriers a home win over Auburn Adventist, 44-21.
Bellarmine Prep’s Nyzhe Primas, Sydney Swofford and Nakaira Petty each contributed 11 points to the Lions’ home Narrows 4A rival victory over Stadium, 67-22.
Raven Benton led Federal Way in scoring with 21 points and Darah Huertas-Vining added 13 more to help the Eagles earn a 65-43 home win over SPSL 4A foe Emerald Ridge. Taylor Buie led all scorers with 23 points for the Jaguars.
Kent-Meridian’s Aubreyana Anderson led all scorers with 21 points, but crosstown rival Kentridge edged the Royals, 51-48. Courtnae Williams led the Chargers’ balanced attack with 11 points.
Bethany Montgomery (27 points) and Tia Briggs (12 points) led Wilson to a 67-25 victory over Narrows 3A foe Foss.
In boys basketball, Marion Beauchamp (27 points) and Keith Green (20 points) combined to power Auburn Mountainview to a 70-56 road win over Bonney Lake.
Kentlake’s Austin Pernell and Jaron Heck each scored a game-high 21 points to lead the Falcons to a 69-62 road win over Auburn.
Fife’s Brock Carpenter led all scorers with 19 points as the Falcons won at home over Washington, 60-39.
Alex Sayler (28 points) and Billy Kiel (22 points) stepped up for White River, helping secure a 72-63 win over SPSL 2A foe Steilacoom. Deshawn Habte led the Sentinels with 16 points.
