Puyallup Police seek help finding stolen sunglasses

Puyallup police were searching Thursday for two men who stole 21 pairs of sunglasses from a store last month.

The thieves walked into the Sports Authority at 4423 S. Meridian about 3 p.m. Jan. 25. They went to a display, took 21 pairs of Under Armour, Ray-Ban, Bolle and Hobie brand sunglasses and cut off the security tags, police said.

They hid the sunglasses in their pockets and walked out without paying for the $2,100 worth of merchandise, police reported.

Tacoma-Pierce County Crime Stoppers released information about the thieves and a surveillance photo Thursday in an effort to identify them.

One man appeared to be white and 45 to 50 years old. He had a slender build and long, gray beard. He wore black pants, a dark gray knit cap, gray hooded shirt and a black leather jacket.

The second man appeared to be white and 35 to 40 years old. He had a medium build and wore a white long-sleeved shirt, blue jeans, white shoes and a dark baseball hat.

Crime Stoppers is offering up to $1,000 for information that leads to arrests and charges filed in the case. Tipsters can remain anonymous. Reach Crime Stoppers at 253-591-5959.
