A man hit and killed by a motorcycle Tuesday night in Kent has been identified as William Smith, 68.
He was crossing in the 23400 block of Pacific Highway South, just south of the Kent Des Moines road intersection, when he was struck about 8:45 p.m. Smith died at the scene; the motorcyclist was thrown and suffered nonlife-threatening injuries.
Kent police investigated the crash and found no evidence that drugs, alcohol or excessive speed contributed to the wreck.
The department initially reported Smith’s age as 19.
