Tumwater residents can learn everything they have ever wanted to know about city government next month.
Tumwater University is a two-night classroom-style event at which residents can learn more about city government and Tumwaters history.
One of the City Councils priorities is to communicate and better engage with our citizens, said Marisa Capella, Tumwater communications coordinator.
The idea was taken from a program city administrator John Doan was involved with while working in Sumner. The goal is to show how city government works and give residents time with city officials.
Tumwater University is set for 6-9 p.m. March 19 and March 26. Topics include emergency preparedness at home, the workings of the city budget, city parks and the brewery action plan.
Residents will be able to weigh in on the citys new website design, which should go live this year.
Any Tumwater residents interested in enrolling can contact Capella at 360-745-4128 or mcapella@ci.tumwater.wa.us.
