  BELLINGHAM - A Level III sex offender has moved to a new address near the southern city limits.

  Benjamin Gardiner Benton, 27, is now living in the 1600 block of Old Samish Road.

  A Whatcom County man who sexually assaulted a 9-year-old girl for several years starting when he was 14 will serve six months of partial confinement after pleading guilty to child molestation charges.

  Shane R. Garner, 24, was sentenced to almost 10 years in prison for three counts of second-degree and one count of third-degree child molestation. All but six months of the sentence were suspended as part of his special sex offender sentencing alternative. For those six months, he will be able to have partial confinement through work release.

  For the remaining nine years and two months of his sentence, Garner will be on community custody with the state Department of Corrections. Garner also will have to complete four years of outpatient sex offender treatment.

  Johnny Ray Hicks, 56, is 5-foot-5, 140 pounds with a shaved head and brown eyes.

  He was convicted of third-degree rape in 1980 in Franklin County, and third-degree child molestation and communication with a minor for immoral purposes in 2003 in Benton County.

  GRANDVIEW -- A sex offender considered highly likely to reoffend is living in Grandview, authorities said.

  Kenneth Christopher Martinez, 31, has told Yakima sheriff's deputies he is living in the 200 block of Ash Street in Grandview.

  Martinez is 5-foot-6, 150 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. He has tattoos on his upper right arm, upper left arm, left forearm and left hand.
