BELLINGHAM - A workshop titled "Elder Care Options - Help When You Need It" will be held from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Feb. 27 at Whatcom Community College.
Taught by Debbie Gann, director of Home Attendant Care, the workshop is for seniors and their loved ones who may need to explore care services in the future. People will learn about alternative living situations, transportation, nutrition, medical services and in-home care, including home-health and hospice.
Information about how to access those services, the cost of each, and the role of Medicare, Medicaid, long-term care insurance and other funding sources also will be covered.
Through Home Attendant Care, Gann manages a team of caregivers who serve clients throughout northwest Washington, with offices in Whatcom and Skagit counties. The workshop costs $19. To register, call 360-383-3200 or see homeattendantcare.com.
