White River edged Federal Way, 134-131, for the Region II girls wrestling title. White River’s Mikaela Kilcup (170 pounds) and Samantha Mitchell (195) won individual titles. Enumclaw’s KC Moulden pinned her opponent in the 265-pound final in 26 seconds.
Kennedy Catholic held off Hazen, 258-235, for the team title at the 3A West Central District boys swim meet. Peninsula, Wilson and Enumclaw followed. Auburn Mountainview, which finished sixth, won the 200 free relay in a time of 1 minute, 33.88 seconds, and Lion Cameron Lindsay won the 100 backstroke in 52.98. Wilson’s Chase Schell won the 50 freestyle in 21.53.
Interlake won the 2A West Central District boys swim meet with 251 points. Sumner’s Connor Powers-Hubbard won the 100 breaststroke in 1:02.45.
Kentlake’s Eason Stowell hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer, lifting the Falcons to a 61-58 win over Rogers in the SPSL 4A boys basketball playoffs. Both teams advance to the bi-district tournament.
Ahmaad Rorie finished with 34 points, leading No. 2 Clover Park past Evergreen, 71-44, for the top seed in the 2A district tournament. Xavier Means added 14 points and 12 rebounds for the Warriors.
Fife scored 24 points in the fourth quarter to rally for a 53-49 win over Renton in the 2A subdistrict playoffs. Brock Carpenter’s 3-pointer with 53 seconds to go gave the Trojans the lead for good. Bryce Miller led Fife with 17 points and 12 rebounds.
Fourth-ranked White River captured the top seed to the 2A girls basketball district tournament with a 56-31 win over No. 9 Renton. The Hornets got points from 11 players.
Four Eatonville players scored in double figures to lead the Cruisers past Sumner, 58-36.
Ciara Pedroni scored 26 points in Fife’s 48-39 win over Foster.
