THURSTON COUNTY: Debris collection to wind down

Some disposal sites for storm debris will close earlier than planned because of decreased demand, a Thurston County commission news release stated.

Some disposal sites for storm debris will close earlier than planned because of decreased demand, a Thurston County commission news release stated.

According to the release:

Four facilities that were set to accept debris until Feb. 29 now will close Feb. 19. They are the Griffin Athletic Fields parking lots, 6924 41st Ave. N.W.; the Burfoot Park parking lot, 6927 Boston Harbor Road N.E.; the Kenneydell Park parking lot, 6745 Fairview Road; and the vacant lot behind Rainier Market at Minnesota and Rochester streets in Rainier.

Two other sites will continue to accept debris through Feb. 29. They are the Waste and Recovery Center, 2418 Hogum Bay Road N.E.; and the Sargent Road gravel pit, 16500 Sargent Road S.W.
