An Eatonville High School teacher is on paid administrative leave while the Eatonville Police Department investigates allegations of wrongdoing involving the teacher and a student, officials said.
The teacher, whom the district did not name, was placed on leave Feb. 7.
Stewart said district officials asked law enforcement to investigate because a crime may have been committed. He said the district acted after hearing complaints from a student.
The district could conduct its own investigation later, Stewart said.
