Puyallup Farmers Market to open this Saturday
The 30th anniversary of the Puyallup Farmers Market, 330 S. Meridian in Pioneer Park in downtown Puyallup, will open on Saturday. The market will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays from April 14 through Oct. 13, and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sundays from May 27 through Sept. 2.
Beginning May 5, the market will move into the pavilion and continue through the end of the fall market on Saturdays only. For more information, call Jen Rinehart, market manager, at 253-840-2631.
The 79th annual Daffodil Parade tours east Pierce
The 79th annual Daffodil Festival Grand Floral Street Parade will begin at 10:15 a.m. Saturday. It will pass through Puyallup at 12:45 p.m.; Sumner at 2:30 p.m.; and Orting at 5 p.m. This year’s theme is “Don’t Stop Believing.” The parade will consist of about 40 float entries, decorated with freshly cut daffodils, and more than 80 other entries.
Merrill Gardens to celebrate its top chef
Merrill Gardens of Puyallup will host a Top Chef Taste of Merrill Gardens competition from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 18. The nationwide competition is shared among all Merrill Gardens locations. Next week’s event will feature the top five Top Chef finalists from Merrill Gardens communities. Those who attend will get a chance to try each dish and vote their favorite soup, salad, entree and dessert.
