Kimberly Knoll has been promoted to branch manager for the main office and downtown branches, both in Puyallup, for Valley Bank. She has more than 28 years of banking experience and is a board member of the Puyallup Main Street Association.

North Tacoma Pediatric Dentistry has added Dr. Bo Davidson to its practice. He is a pediatric dentist specializing in oral health care for children and individuals with special health care needs. He attended the University of Washington for DDS, University of Illinois for specialty in pediatric dentistry and University of Illinois for a masters in oral sciences.
Dr. Amrit Guptan, a cardiologist with special interest in the treatment of heart rhythm disturbances, has recently joined Franciscan Heart & Vascular Associates in Tacoma. As a interventional electrophysiologist, he performs, on average, more than 700 procedures each year, including ablative therapies for atrial fibrillation, resynchronization therapy, complex ablations and device implantation. Guptan earned his medical degree from Maulana Azad Medical College in New Delhi, India, completed his residency at Mount Sinai/Queens Hospital Center in New York as well as fellowships in cardiology and heart failure at Mount Sinai/Elmhurst Hospital in New York and cardiac electrophysiology at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, Minn.

Mary Rico, account service representative, has been recognized with Valley Bank’s 2011 President’s Award. The nominees are selected by their peers for demonstrating high standards and conduct with emphasis on the “Golden Rule” with fellow employees. Rico has been with Valley Bank for 10 years and has more than 30 years of banking experience.
Marc Christianson, partner in charge with McKinley Irvin law firm of Tacoma, recently received a fellowship in the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. The association selects preeminent family law practitioners with a high level of knowledge, skill and integrity and offers fellowship to lawyers who meet multi-faceted membership criteria, as well as pass a written examination and oral interview. There are 21 AAML fellows in the state of Washington. Christianson is the only one in Tacoma.
Helen McGovern, executive director of Emergency Food Network in Lakewood, was recently recognized by the Harlequin More Than Words award. By visiting
HarlequinMoreThanWords.com, voters selected their favorite nominee from a list of five finalists. McGovern was one of three nominees with the highest amount of votes and chosen as the 2012 Harlequin More Than Words award recipients. Each of the honorees will receive $15,000 for her charity.
