A flood warning will remain in effect for the Puyallup River above Orting through today.
The river crested Wednesday at 7,850 cubic feet per second and was expected to fall below the flood threshold (4,500 cubic feet per second) Wednesday night, the National Weather Service said.
Areas most affected by the minor flooding were Neadham Road, Orville Road East, Tomolla Tree Farm area and areas south of Brooks Road East and north of Electron Road.
The Weather Service also has a flood watch in effect until this afternoon for rivers in Pierce, Thurston, King, Lewis and Snohomish counties.
The snow level has dropped to about 3,000 feet, and rainfall for the central Cascades ranges from 3 to 9 inches. The north Cascades and Olympics saw 2 to 5 inches during the storm.
A special weather statement noted an increased risk of landslides on the passes and in parts of Mount Rainier National Park.
Today’s forecast was looking up: party sunny with a high near 50. Rain was expected to return late Friday morning.
