A 26-year-old man wanted in connection with a home-invasion robbery last week in South Tacoma has been arrested in Oregon.
Law enforcement officers stopped Monaroes Sar in Beaverton on Tuesday after he got on a train without a ticket, Tacoma police spokesman Mark Fulghum said Wednesday. Officers checked on Sar and discovered he had a warrant for his arrest in connection with the Tacoma home-invasion robbery.
Pierce County prosecutors charged Sar on Friday with first-degree robbery, first-degree burglary and unlawful imprisonment. They accuse Sar and two others of burglarizing Gabrielle Senn’s home in the 3600 block of South Gunnison Street on April 17.
Sar reportedly confronted the 67-year-old Senn at gunpoint and demanded cash and valuables. She calmly dealt with the intruders and dialed 911, bringing police to her house and prompting the arrest of one thief.
The other two men – Jesse Grimes, 20, and Bobby Ray McKinney, 26 – have pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Prosecutors will seek to have Sar extradited to Pierce County to face charges, Fulghum said.
