Pierce County law enforcement officers arrested one man and were searching for another after a drug deal went sideways Tuesday night along Tacoma’s Sixth Avenue.
The two buyers called the two sellers and agreed to meet in the 2000 block of Sixth Avenue, police spokesman Mark Fulghum said. During the meeting, the sellers pulled guns and robbed one of the buyers of her purse about 7:40 p.m., police said.
She told police her purse contained $500.
The sellers left and got into a vehicle. The buyers gave officers the license plate number and police broadcast a description of the vehicle to officers on patrol in the area.
A short time later, University Place sheriff’s deputies spotted the vehicle in the 9000 block of 34th Street Southwest and stopped it. One suspect fled; a second was arrested. Officers spotted a gun and the buyer’s purse in the vehicle.
Fulghum said officers know who the second suspect is and were looking for him.
