MONday’s highlights

Puyallup’s Mitchell Baldridge earned medalist honors at Gold Mountain’s Olympic Course with a 4-over par for two rounds at the 4A West Central District boys golf tournament. Bellarmine Prep’s Michael Almonte finished a stroke behind to tie for second. Lions teammates Chris Tesdesco and Greg Gildea tied for fourth at 6-over with Curtis’ Davis Gullickson.

In 3A boys, Peninsula’s Adam Barker earned medalist honors at the Olympic Course at 1-over par after two rounds.

In 4A girls, Bellarmine Prep’s Lindsey Gullickson shot a 5-over-par 76 in the final round to earn medalist honors at the Cascade Course. Kent-Meridian’s Lauren Victorino finished in second place.

In 3A girls, Bonney Lake’s Desirae Haselwood was the medalist at 18 over for two rounds. Teammate Anna Babbitt finished four strokes behind in a two-way tie for third.

White River baseball finished fifth after losing in a 2A subdistrict match against North Kitsap, 11-4. The Hornets’ Zach McMillen had two hits.

Orting junior Willy Sonmore pitched his first varsity no-hitter in a 5-0 nonleague road win over Eatonville. Sonmore pitched seven innings and struck out four.
