TACOMA: Man sentenced to 30 years for fatal shooting

A Pierce County judge on Friday sentenced a Tacoma man to 30 years in prison for shooting another man to death in the street last year.

Lloyd Robert Jackson, 28, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder Friday before Superior Court Judge Ronald Culpepper handed down the sentence.

Jackson was arrested in October after witnesses told police they saw him attack Terrance Sand, 42, after an argument at a house in the 3400 block of South Madison Street. Jackson punched Sand several times before shooting him at close range, court records show.

The two men apparently had an ongoing dispute.

Jackson also pleaded guilty to a series of robberies in the Tacoma area.
