A public meeting will be held Thursday in Enunclaw to allow the pulic the chance to comment on a potential land exchange and adjustment to the long-term boundary at Nolte State Park.
The meeting will be from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Enumclaw Public Library, at 1700 First St., Enumclaw.
State Parks was considering using property south of Veazie-Cumberland Road to build a new restroom at the park.
State Parks now has the chance to exchange that land for other high-priority land within the Green River Gorge area. Park planner Nikkie Fields said they are talking with Palmer Coking Coal about an exchange that could involve a trail easement in the Icy Creek area of the gorge, bringing a south rim trail significantly closer to reality.
