A 21-year-old Tacoma woman hit by a car Sunday as she walked on the Yelm Highway has died.

Jessica Richards died Tuesday at Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia, the Washington State Patrol reported Wednesday.

Richards was walking on the roadway of the highway just west of Meridian Road shortly before 1:30 a.m. when an eastbound car struck her. The 54-year-old driver was not hurt and remained at the scene.

The investigation is continuing.

    Ashley's condition was not immediately available Friday. No one else was hurt in the collision, according to WSP.
