Initial report: Police are searching for a 9-year-old Yelm boy who did not show up to school Thursday.

The boy left home this morning headed to the bus stop in the Clearwater community southeast of Yelm, according to Thurston County Sheriff's Lt. Greg Elwin.

"When he didn't arrive at school, the school called his house," Elwin said. "Somewhere in between when he left for the bus stop and school, something went awry."
