On National Trails Day, June 2, runners, walkers and ultra runners will take on the 10th annual Rainier to Ruston Rail-Trail Relay and Ultra.

The course follows the Foothills Trail from the shoulders of Mount Rainier to the shores of Puget Sound. The trail passes through wilderness and historic communities, following the old Northern Pacific railroad grade that once brought settlers and supplies into the West.

The event begins at 7 a.m. at the Carbon River entrance to Mount Rainier National Park.

Activities will conclude about 3 p.m. at Marine Park on Ruston Way in Tacoma.

Participate as a team or an individual in this scenic race.
