 • It’s festival season, and the Northwest Folklife Festival is kicking it off this weekend. The free event features more than 800 acts across 25 stages, celebrating all forms of cultural expression. Hours are 11 a.m.-10 p.m. today through Sunday, and 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday at the Seattle Center, 305 Harrison St., Seattle; 206-684-7300, nwfolklifefestival.org.

 • Community theater is a strong component of the local arts scene. Check out “Happy Days, a New Musical” as it ends its run this weekend. Showtimes are 8 tonight, 2 and 8 p.m. Saturday, and 2 p.m. Sunday at the Tacoma Musical Playhouse, 7116 Sixth Ave., Tacoma. Tickets are $20-$27; 253-565-6867, tmp.org.

 • Rock out with Creedence Clearwater Revisited at their 8:30 concert tonight at the Emerald Queen Casino, 2024 E. 29th St., Tacoma. Tickets are 25-$65 and are available through Ticketmaster.
