 • Take the family out for a free look at local history at the Browns Point Lighthouse Cottage Museum. Exhibits include the Jerry Meeker Exhibit, a Puyallup Indian who was instrumental in the history of Browns Point and Dash Point; restored 1903 classic keepers’ cottage, furnished with antiques; history museum with hands-on displays; boathouse maritime exhibit with Coast Guard surf boat, antique tools, original fog bell. Hours are 1-4 p.m. Saturdays, Browns Point Lighthouse Park, 201 Tulalip St. N.E., Tacoma. 253-927-2536, pointsnortheast.org.

 • You don’t have to wait for SeaFair to get excited about hydroplane boats. Check out the Hydro Fever Open House from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. today. It will feature a live auction of memorabilia, model races for kids, dealers and more. The free event is at the Hydroplane and Raceboat Museum, 5917 S. 196th St., Kent. thunderboats.ning.com.

    The museum already is entering a final year of change.
