Youths can shoot variety of arms during festival

The Tacoma Sportsmen’s Club will hold an NRA Youth SportsFest, a chance to learn different shooting sports, on June 16.

The Tacoma Sportsmen’s Club will hold an NRA Youth SportsFest, a chance to learn different shooting sports, on June 16.

The event is free and open to boys and girls ages 11-18. Participants must register in advance.

Following firearm safety training, there will be introductions to archery, rifle, muzzleloader and shotgun. Each participant will have the opportunity to properly handle and fire each discipline.

Check-in will start at 7 a.m. with the training at 8 a.m. The event will finish about 3:30 p.m.

The event will be at the sportsmen’s club, 16409 E. Canyon Road, Puyallup.

Youths are urged to register early because there is a limit of 125 participants. For details and forms, call 253-537-6151 or send an email to protect2 ndamd@comcast.net.
