PTA selects new regional director
De Marco Best, an active parent in the Bethel School District, was recently elected as Washington State PTA Region 5 director for a one-year term beginning June 1. As a region director, he is responsible for holding officers’ leadership workshops and providing support for the councils and local units in Region 5, which includes southeast Pierce County and the Enumclaw School District in King County. Best will also serve on the WSPTA Board of Directors.
Best is employed as a flight simulator engineer for Alaska Airlines, serves as chair of the Black Employee Resource Group at Alaska Airlines and volunteers for Habitat For Humanity in Tacoma.
